The City of Middletown hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Sept. 9, 2024 for the $6.7 million renovation and expansion project of the Robert "Sonny" Hill Community Center.
The 83-year-old building will see an exterior face lift, as well as interior improvements and enhancements, while also adding on a state-of-the-art gymnasium with bleachers and a scoreboard.
The project will double the square footage of the Community Center, which has seen generations of children walk through its doors for recreation, entertainment, and education.
Middletown thanks the Butler County Commissioners, who made a significant $3.5 million investment into the renovation and expansion project, in addition to the city's investment.
Construction should be completed in late 2025. Partners on the project include Universal Contracting and Brandstetter Carroll.
