MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – The City of Middletown announces that it will donate $10,000 to the Middletown High School Marching Band after the band was invited to perform in the inauguration parade in Washington D.C. by one of its alums, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
“Vice President-elect Vance’s rise to national leadership is inspiring and a truly significant achievement,” Acting City Manager Nathan Cahall said. “It is an honor for the City of Middletown to contribute to the band’s trip to celebrate this milestone. A celebration of Vance’s inauguration is a celebration of Middletown.”
Vice President-elect Vance, a graduate of Middletown High School, will be sworn-in on Jan. 20 on the steps of the United States Capitol. Not only will Vice President-elect Vance become the first vice president from Middletown, he will also become the first vice president from the State of Ohio.
The City of Middletown plans to feature the vice president-elect in the January edition of the Middletown NOW newsletter. There are also plans to honor the vice president-elect with signage across the city.
