Airport master planning is a continuous and strategic process required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to establish a framework for the efficient development of airports that is consistent with local, state and national standards and goals. The foundation of a master plan is the 20-year aviation activity forecast specifically for the airport and approved by the FAA. The Middletown Regional Airport/Hook Field (MWO) planning process culminates in a Master Plan and Airport Layout Plan, which will serve as the official plan depicting Airport developments envisioned by the City as part of complying with federal planning standards and grant assurances. This plan will be updated as demand or circumstances change.
A public information session on the airport master plan was held from 4-6 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Council Chambers, prior to the Airport Commission meeting, also in Council Chambers.
